Collard-Picard Racines

Blanc de Noirs – 100% Meunier

92James Suckling – Champagne Report 2026

A tribute to René Collard, Olivier's grandfather and a true pioneer of Meunier. 100% Meunier from the family's three historic villages (Villers-sous-Châtillon, Reuil, Binson-et-Orquigny), vinified in foudres and aged at least seven years in bottle: yellow and dried fruit, a lively attack and a slightly saline finish.

Details

  • 100% Pinot Meunier
  • Dosage: 3 g/l
  • Ageing: min. 8 years

The Terroirs line pays tribute to the family's origins. Born of its two winegrowing cradles – the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs – these cuvées express each terroir: the balance of three grapes in Perpétuelle, the mineral purity of Dom. Picard and the fruity depth of Racines.

Style, food pairing and serving

Collard-Picard Racines is a true French Champagne: a sparkling wine made in the Champagne region by the traditional method of second fermentation in the bottle (méthode champenoise). A Blanc de Noirs, a white Champagne made from black grapes (Pinot Noir, Meunier): fuller and fruitier, good with poultry, veal and aged cheeses. Extra brut, a very dry Champagne (3 g/l sugar): taut and pure, excellent as an aperitif and with fish and seafood.

Serve at 8–10 °C (vintage Champagne at 10–12 °C) in a tulip-shaped glass. With a Champagne stopper a chilled bottle stays fresh for a few days.

Champagne Collard-Picard Champagnes are distributed in Hungary by the official representative: order online from the champagneforyou.hu Champagne shop or buy them in person at the Belle Époque Bar & Boutique in Kecskemét. We organise Champagne tastings for private guests and companies.
